Tonight’s my last beginner lesson for fencing. I am sad that 8 weeks have come to an end so quickly. I’m not sure if I would continue fencing, as it’s at 45 minute drive every Thursday night.
The other day I had an insane 10 point bout with a much younger opponent. At the end of it I was gasping for air so hard I thought I would puke. It was exhilarating. The experience reminded me of grappling in Judo, but with a much more direct outcome, poke them before they poke you.
Went to play some recreational volleyball yesterday. My knees are bruised from all the diving I’ve done. But it was a lot of fun, even though we got destroyed by our competition. My only wish was that my team was more positive, it wouldn’t matter what the outcome was.
My buddy Martin from Scanly got into y-combinator. I’m so happy for him, but at the same time I’m saddened that another friend is leaving Toronto to go to Silicon valley. I guess that’s just life.
On a lighter note, I’ve decided to try and get Alex into shape. We are going to follow the protocol found in this article. A clear guideline of how to become strong. My goal is in 6-8 weeks Alex will transform from a weak-little-girl into a freak of nature. Stay tuned for progress
I didn’t agree to this. Also, I’m pretty sure I can already beat a little girl*.
