I just cleared COD Modern Warfare 2 this weekend. I was really surprised at the quality of the game. I have not played COD MW1, but after hearing Rollin’s great review of MW1, and I quote, “It’s like you’re in a f**ken movie”, I decided to give MW2 a try. I was blown away by the great story, and non-stop action.
That being said, there were some parts of the game I didn’t enjoy. There was a mission early in the game, where you had to climb the side of an icy mountain. Passing this took me many tries. I couldn’t tell if it was my mouse or was it just the game mechanics, but given that you are the most advanced combat warrior of modern day, why was it so hard to climb a mountain? Considering I can sprint forever, survived 50 bullets, and heal almost instantly after waiting in safety, why can’t I climb a mountain automatically by pressing forward? The first few times falling I thought it was part of the game to fall part way up, because my right ice pick wouldn’t stay in the mountain for some reason.
Another thing that pissed me off were the enemies from out of nowhere and everywhere. Half the time, I was wondering who the hell is shooting me!? Which in a sense is good, because it shows you the chaos of war, but it’s just frustrating when everything turns red when you’re being shot, and you just die.
