It’s less of a clear and present danger during the summer, but it’s hot, and the freezer looks so comforting. The frost is just begging to be licked, but you know if you do, you’ll end up in the moron section of the local newspaper.

Incidently, the Internet knows how to get a tongue off of a frozen surface. Liberally pour warm water until everything warms up enough to pull off the tongue. Do not use boiling water. Hilariously enough, it recommends using urine as a last-ditch solution. Lollerskates.

So this week staycation I’ve been on has been rather unrelaxing. People are all like “What? You have a week off? I don’t think that’s fair, so I’ll give you a brazillion tasks to do.”

Since I live 3 blocks away from the conference center, I basically spent the entire weekend indoors.

Truth be told, I’m more then a little upset at the thugs that decided protesting means you can ignore laws. Laws such as not smashing windows, setting fires to police cars, or throwing bricks at reporters. Come on, what the hell are you thinking? These people are not protesting anything, they are just thrill seeking.

All in all I think the police presence was worth 1 billion dollars. It would have been better if the police actually did something on Saturday, while the vandals were having their way with stores. I mean they should have interjected or rushed them. Which makes me wonder if the police let the Black Bloc happen, feeding the crowd old police cars to be smashed, so the next day they could take the gloves off and totally woop ass.

I’m just glad it’s over.

Now we basically have to pay 8% more on all the expensive stuff, such as buying a new house or paying condo fees. Sadly I live in Ontario, where people like to sit and take it. If I were living in British Columbia this would be a different story. My hat goes off to these hardcore cannucks, and I hope they win. Hell if they win I might just move to BC. Unfortunately, my only recourse against this tax is to bash it in this comic.

I totally got this feeling when watching the Clannad: After Story anime. Story arcs with girls involved talking, revelation, crying, and then maybe some cooking. Boys, however, solved their problems with punching, yelling insults (which usually provokes more punching), falling down (because they were tired from punching), followed by everyone forgetting why they were angry.

Anyways, this also segues into Dating Tips from Worf.

But oddly they went out and released slimmer (better) hardware for the exact same price. I would like to say to the marketing people, WTF?! Why would you announce a better hardware at the same time as your price cut? I mean, there is no chance in hell I would personally buy an original PS3 now. I mean the classic 80gig one doesn’t even support ps2 games. So there is absolutely no reason to buy a giant burning ROCK.

If I were in charge of product management/marketing or what ever the hell made this decision, I would have cut the price. Waited 2 to 3 months to avoid returns, then announce hey everyone we got a new one coming in 1 to 2 months. By then you would have cleared out a lot of the inventory, because people were already waiting for the PS3 price cut. Instead, you just get people who will wait for the slim to come out and not sell any of the inventory. I mean the old thing is freakishly HUGE. You can block out the sun if you through enough of them into the sky.

We try to convince him it’s no big deal, and at least there was the in-flight movie display in front of each chair, along with a power adapter for his laptop. Which I must say was pretty neat, because it was a personal media station with movies and music. Unless of course it doesn’t work. Which sadly happened to us. One of the displays were dead 2 rows ahead of us, and the person in that seat naturally complained to the flight attendant. Trying to be helpful and fair, she decides to reset the system to try and rectify the issue. Off goes the displays, and they remained that way for the next 10 hours. Apparently the reset failed, and despite her best efforts, multiple resets, they refused to turn on again. So we are now stuck with no entertainment for the next 10 hours. We were right next to the engines so sleep was not going to happen. Rollin and I resort to telling each other “your mama” jokes, coming up with whole new ways to diss each others mamas. That lasted about 2 hours. So we just sat there miserable for next 8 hours, until at last someone snapped and demanded that they try to reset the displays again. It actually worked this time, and we managed to squeeze some entertainment out. We actually got 5% discount off our next flight for their blunder. But honestly, what makes them think I’ll enjoy Air Canada AGAIN?
