Anyone else going to get an iPad? I must admit, I wasn’t very interested in this device until I saw the keynote. I didn’t really watch the keynote live in video form, instead I huddled in front of the computer endlessly clicking the refresh button on the engadget.com website. It was worth it to see that beautiful device show itself.

I swear the iPhone is a gateway drug.

The Man Knows How to Dance

I’m not a Mac fan, but I do appreciate Job’s ability to lock down its device and all of its media, yet still generate a frothing demand for shiny objects. Lifehacker had a post recently about delivering presentations like Steve Jobs, linking to some guy who has a raging Powerpoint for Steve Job’s presenting abilities.

Ballmer, however, is famous for throwing chairs, like a Donkey Kong of lawn furniture.

Followed the liveblog from Engadget. It really looks cool, and makes iPhones look like the fun-sized candy bars you get at Halloween.

So far I’ve resisted the Siren’s call of Apple, but most of the people I know have an iPhone, a magical talking box which somehow has access to the sum knowledge, audio, and video of mankind ever made.

Aside: being the Touhou geek that I am, when I heard iPad, I thought about Sakuya first.

Some guys were handing out free avocados at Union station last week. Somehow, the conversation got mixed up with Ballmer’s recent business escapades.

It’s so easy to start a new project. Like, an article pops up in your RSS feed on raising chickens in your backyard. Before you know it, you’re at Home Depot looking for chicken wire and it hits you: you’re thirty-seven hours late for work, your guild has kicked you out for not attending the 150-man raid in Astropop Dungeon, and your webcomic has started to lapse on its schedule.

Only the last part happened to me, though.

Sometimes you say things you don’t really mean, in a mean way. However they end up sounding mean, because you have poor timing.

You never know how much you rely on something until you lose it. Turns out I don’t remember any of the phone numbers stored on my cellphone. Luckily I did remember one of them, and was able to construct a plan to get contact the person I actually did need to talk to. So from now on I’ll carry a list of numbers, or I’ll just remember one very important number… like 967-1111
